‘Aam Panna’ or ‘Raw Mango Panna’ is a popular Indian summer drink known for its zesty flavor and more important for its heat resisting properties. It is mostly consumed in North India after meals for good digestion and before going out in Sun. Made with fresh seasonal green mangoes and mint leaves, aam panna not only quenches thirst but also prevents loss of sodium and iron in body due to excessive sweating. The addition of spices like cumin seeds powder and black salt make it a valiant fighter for gastronomic disorders.
For mothers to be, if morning sickness prevails…look no further and drink aam panna and you will feel better!
For a healthy and light summer meal serve aam panna with freshly made dal tadka, Konkani ambe upkari and bottle gourd churakka thoran (South Indian preparation of ash gourd or lauki). Do not miss to pair with a bowl of kachumbar salad!
